Shri. Shivaji Education
Society, Amravati, which has been running this institution. This
society was founded by Late Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh,
an eminent social reformer, political leader and educationist in
Maharashtra. Today this society has an eye-dazzling network of schools
and colleges imparting education to masses in the Vidarbha region.
In 1993-1994, this society was bestowed upon with the prestigeous
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial award for its outstanding achievements
in the field of education, followed by Shri Gadge Maharaj Memorial
Trust Award in the session 1999-2000. The Maharashtra Government
honoured the society with the cash prize of Rs. One lac, for being
the best administered educational society on 05th September 2000.
This, in nutshell, is the rising graph of the distinctive features
of Shri Shivaji Education Society.
The motto of establishment of this
college is to educate the students from the rural area surrounding
the Nandura. This college was started from 20th June 1983 with the
Arts and Commerce stream in Senior college and Junior college.
Minimum Competency Vocational Course
(MCVC), initiated in 1993-1994 by the college. MCVC has its own
utility value since it helps students to generate self employment.
This College aims at achieving
qualitative excellence of students. In fact, it is one of the facets
of this college.
